I frequently get Twitter DMs asking for book recommendations, and it’s getting tasking to come up with the perfect suggestion on the spot. I go through 15-20 books a year, so it’s not always easy to narrow down my top picks on the spot. This is not a typical bookshelf, it will only feature books I highly rate.

• Caesar and Christ by Will Durant: Interesting read if you have interest in Rome history, Christianity, Caesar and the connections between them. Over 700 pages, but worth the read.

• The Chile Project by Sebastian Edwards : If you are a Nigerian like me you should check this. So many parallels

• Napoleon's Commentaries on the Wars of Julius Caesar : Napoleon authored this while on exile at St. Helena. Blown away by his solid grasp of history. You will like it even more if you like reading about military strategies and the evolution.
